Global Village 2007
By Ethel

To celebrate our 10th anniversary, we decided to spend the whole week celebrating, we planned to start with a Global Village, but since we currently don't have enough “foreigners” to put all the stands, we contacted the embassies and they gladly presented their cultures.

It was sunny on Saturday morning, at 6:00 am the OC was already in the place putting everything together, and they worked all morning.

At about 12:30, just 30 minutes before starting the program, it started raining! We panic! We didn’t know what to do, we were about to cancel the whole event, but then, one of the newies came up with the idea of putting everything closer and the awnings close together so people wouldn’t be wet.

At the end, the event was great! We had the open speech from one of our favorite alumni, Beatriz Guillen (who is getting married next Saturday) we also had presentations from Ecuador, Argentina, El Salvador and Brasil with the “Compañía de Danza Ecos del Mundo” (a major dance studio), the Honduran embassy presented a singer, Rudy, a talented guy who came from Honduras just for this event. Then we had a rock band and we ended up with a batucada!
Here are some pictures.
